Test Conditions

Test items and typical conditions

The table below shows commonly used settings. Click a standard number for the full explanation.

Test item Typical condition / setting Unit Standard
X-ray solder joint inspection Micron-level defect identification μm IPC-A-610
Metallographic cross-section 50–500× section inspection × IPC-TM-650
IMC interface thickness Measurement of the joint metallurgical layer μm IPC-A-610
CAF failure analysis Temperature-humidity bias, accelerated method IPC standards

Conditions and limits above are typical examples. Actual test levels, sample quantities and acceptance criteria follow the mutually confirmed test plan and the applicable standard revision. Source: the referenced standard clauses.

The value of failure analysis is not only in finding the cause — it is in feeding the root cause back into design to close the loop. The end point of the analysis is not a report; it is an improvement on the design side.

The complete analysis flow

Step one, failure review: confirm the failure phenomenon and record the failure conditions and the state at the moment of failure.

Where root causes usually sit

Design issues: mismatched thermal expansion coefficients, structural stress concentration, missing protection design.

Why the analysis sequence cannot be reversed

X-ray is non-destructive and provides morphological evidence and location guidance, but it cannot determine the nature of a crack.

Service notes

Our laboratory holds both CMA and CNAS accreditation, covers about 10,000 m2 and runs more than 500 sets of equipment. All testing is carried out in our own laboratories — nothing is subcontracted. Plant visits and on-site witnessed testing are welcome.

Scheduling follows the actual project pipeline. You can state your preferred lead time when you submit samples; we will confirm a feasible plan against current capacity and keep you updated at each milestone.

Have a testing requirement? Send us your product details

Tell us the product model and test requirements. Our engineers will map out the test plan, the applicable standards and the item combination, and provide a quotation reference. The more specific the request, the sharper the answer.

  • Free scoping of the test plan and standards
  • Pre-scan testing during R&D to cut rework cost
  • On-site visits and witnessed testing supported
  • Scheduling per project, with progress updates at each milestone

Received — we will contact you shortly and follow up with a test plan and quotation.

By submitting you agree to be contacted by phone or email. Scheduling follows the project’s actual availability and is subject to mutual confirmation.
